Some questions in life may be challenging and beyond our grasp to accept. Why some things just won’t work out the way they should be? Most of us already have our fair share of unlimited answered prayers from God. We may deserve it, and nothing can change the fact that God is not limited to any request we ask Him. There are moments when God will give us answers according to His willingness, but if not, should we force our heart’s desires to happen in reality or just wait on God, let things slip into our hands, and let God work on them? Why are we separated from some people we would love to spend our life with?
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” If you are going to understand the verse, it will sink into us that God has reasons why time plays a huge part in accepting unpursued desires of our hearts. Today, the Holy Spirit will make us understand why some things in life don’t work however we want.
“ ‘Keep my decrees. “ ‘Do not mate different kinds of animals. “ ‘Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. “ ‘Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.”
Leviticus 19:19 NIV
“Do not plant two kinds of seed in your vineyard; if you do, not only the crops you plant but also the fruit of the vineyard will be defiled.”
Deuteronomy 22:9 NIV
Why God separates two kinds from each other?
1. Clarity for two kinds of different purposes.
“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”
Psalms 119:130 NIV
Life is much more apparent when we know the difference between God’s plan in contrast to ours. God has a reason why some things don’t work together, and it needs a complete view to achieve the goal of both purposes.
2. To identify which is good or bad.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:8 NIV
Pray for the proper judgment to identify which is for God and evil. It takes a sincere prayer to ask for guidance to discern from truth and lies. Be watchful because the devil is deceitful.
3. For direction, who do we need to follow?
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Matthew 6:24 NIV
The love of money needs to be set apart from God and His good plans. Be careful to choose which is from God and the enemy. It may appear right from the start, but it will blind and separate you from God. When the Lord separates you from the other, don’t force togetherness.
4. Some things will not work together.
“Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
John 13:7 NIV
Things we plan don’t happen as we want because God is protecting us from something. We should trust our future to the Creator, who made all of us, because He is the One who has control over our life and the future. Separation or disappointment may give us total heartbreak but know that someday, God will unfold everything in front of our eyes; why some things just won’t work out together.
5. It will bring poor results.
“The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”
Romans 8:6 NIV
We cannot mix flesh and fruit of the Spirit. We can’t live a double life. Orange cannot produce apple juice, and vice versa. It will not come out the way it is because they are different. Fruit of the Spirit is designed to give and speak life to one another and peace, but the mind governed by the flesh is death.
6. It will not be equal (the other will gain control over the other).
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:5 NIV
Jesus is the light that stands out. A city on a top of a hill cannot be hidden. We are what we think. If we follow darkness to fill our life, we will be away from the light, and that is Jesus who gives hope to everyone.
In the same way, there is also a reason why God and sin can’t be mixed together, and here’s why:
1. God is holy. He is set apart from sin because God’s plan is good.
2. God’s purpose for creation is good and not evil.
3. Sin doesn’t know the rooted love of Jesus.
4. The lies cannot defeat the truth.
“But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
1 Peter 1:15-16 NIV
It is not easy to be away from the comfort zone that is not God’s plan for us, but He separates two different kinds because both have a purpose to fulfill in life. Sometimes, there is a blessing in isolation. Being set apart from worldly standards will save us deep anguish in the unknown future.
“Trust God in incompatibilities.”
