LOVE DOESN’T HURT

When our hearts shatter, we find ourselves asking, “Will I ever be free from this pain?” The ache lingers, sometimes fading for a moment, only to return as stubborn, unyielding memories resurface. We lift our prayers to God, longing for change, yet the silence remains.

God designed our emotions not to be ignored or numbed. Through them, we can discover why heartbreak sometimes guides us toward His purpose and protection, or teaches us when we stray from His way. Remember this: Only the Lord can turn everything around. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.”

The question we should ask ourselves is: What is God trying to teach me through waiting and healing? God doesn’t want us to numb the pain in our hearts but to trust Him to deliver us from this heartache. Remember, God can ruin our plans to replace them with His. He can change the plans you are sure about. We get hurt because we set plans and emotions in our lives and put a period on them. The Bible teaches us in Proverbs 19:21, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

A broken heart is not the absence of love but the presence of God. The pain you carry from the past is not something to hide or dismiss. Instead, let it flow out, trace its roots, and keep surrendering it to God as many times as you need. Healing begins when we stop wrestling with our feelings. When we embrace our brokenness and soak ourselves in God’s Word, healing will gently unfold in its own season.

Love does not bring pain. Love is joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and gentleness. It keeps no record of wrongs, feels no envy, and never boasts. Love is not proud, does not dishonor others, is not self-seeking, and is slow to anger. It finds no pleasure in evil but celebrates the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always endures. Love is a wonder to behold. Hurt comes from the choices of those who wound us, not from love itself.

Love’s beauty truly shines when your heart overflows with its fruit. Even with a heart cracked by sorrow, you meet offense not with anger, but with a gentle strength—offering kindness and understanding in return. Don’t let wounds sculpt you into someone you’re not; let love keep you true to yourself.

Your heart is a masterpiece, crafted with awe and wonder. Jesus treasures you beyond measure, longing for you to place every burden at His feet and breathe in the freedom of gratitude. Let your healing be radiant and graceful.

Heal beautifully.
