THE HERALD’S JOY!

(The Gift of Encouragement and the Joy of Sharing the Gospel)

Written by Abby Caymol | Dec 17, 2023

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” –‭Matthew‬ ‭28:19‭-‬20‬ ‭NIV‬

There are two types of messengers: those who know the purpose of the message and those who relay the message without knowing the details or motives of the sender.

It is essential to be familiar with the sender, message, and purpose before transmitting a message to someone, as passing on an unknown message may put us at risk.

The question is, “How well do we know the sender?”

It is easy to share the message when we know where it comes from, its purpose, and if it is worth sharing.

The same way we get to know God.

The message is valuable for communicating your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with others. The world is filled with diverse messages that originate from different minds.

Believing what we hear is common, but its accuracy is questionable. It is all-important to research to verify the authenticity of any message we receive and to uncover the facts behind it.

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. –‭Psalms‬ ‭16:11a‬ ‭NIV

He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. –‭Psalms‬ ‭18:19‬a ‭NIV‬

The Book of Psalms contains David’s gratitude for God’s goodness. Although readers may interpret it differently, the response remains the same – they want to learn more about the God who rescued David from wild animals and battle, blessed him to become the next king of Israel, and called him a man after God’s heart (2 Samuel 5:3b, Acts 13:22).

After hearing the message and conducting research to confirm its validity, we, too, desired to experience the goodness of the source. If the source is proven reliable based on our experience, we will begin to believe the sender, their message, and the source itself.

My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long. –‭Psalms‬ ‭71:8‬ ‭NIV‬

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. –‭Psalms‬ ‭96:3‬ ‭NIV‬

When you start to experience the greatness of the Lord, you will feel something cooking in your heart which will bring you immense joy. You will have a strong urge to share your experience with God with others, and this joy will come out naturally.

Even the most basic expressions of faith in God will be noticeable.

It will be an exciting experience for you to share your encounter with God with others.

When we encounter God, He will breathe life into our lifeless situation. The Holy Spirit will then empower us to be witnesses to the nations, as it says in Acts 1:8. God will restore our broken dreams in His way and bring back the desires of our hearts that were long forgotten but with a renewed purpose.

So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed. –‭Mark‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭NIV‬

When the Holy Spirit empowers you, your life becomes a testament; it will display amazing things. Everyone who hears your message will be inspired to seek the Holy Spirit’s empowerment.

Knowing God and His purpose is vital to establish a strong and lasting relationship. We cannot share the Gospel without knowing God.

As you share your testimony, the people who hear it will be encouraged. They, too, will feel the joy in their hearts to share the goodness of the Lord with others. Soon enough, they will also become heralds of the Gospel.

They will become your brothers and sisters in Christ—the co-preacher of the good news.

How beautiful are the feet who bring the Gospel! They teach peace that comes from God; they declare the goodness of the Gospel; they announce the deliverance and preeminence of the Lord! (Isaiah 52:7).

Blessed are the heralds who do not claim the glory that belongs to God. Blessed are they who deliver accurate and good news to all.

God did not give us a spirit of timidity but confidence and courage that was molded by His perfect love. He will equip us with every word and detail of your testimony, which will be known to all.

Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.  But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges!  As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” –‭Acts‬ ‭4:18‭-‬20‬ ‭NIV‬

It’s difficult to stay quiet when overwhelmed by the love and magnificence of God’s sovereignty. The message that wants to come out will naturally be spoken.

All individuals will be aware, and everyone will be scattered to preach the word of God.

Delightedness in the Lord will increase your purpose. Longing to serve God will give you great joy! The strength of your soul will become greater (Psalm 138:3b).

Sharing the Gospel is the second best gift you could give to someone after Jesus, as it has the power to change someone’s life.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. –‭John‬ ‭14:6‭-‬7‬a  ‭NIV‬

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me. –‭John‬ ‭14:1‬ ‭NIV‬
