CHRIST’S LORDSHIP AND DISCIPLESHIP

But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

1 Corinthians 11:3 NIV

God created everything in order. There is a good reason why God created the light first (separated from darkness) and then the “vault,” which is the sky (separated from water). As we all know, all things are created for Him and through Him—Jesus (Colossians 1:16 NIV). He is the firstborn of all creation. (Colossians 1:15 NIV). The light created first symbolizes Jesus as the firstborn of all creation. Jesus is the light in the world’s darkness, for everything will be transformed through Him, and people will live in order. In this sequence, God purposely created all these for a reason in heaven and here. As Jesus is our Lord and Savior, a Sheperd to sheep (us), we are taught and discipled by Jesus to share it with others. That is why God entrusts us to have a ministry where we can disciple one another and someone else. This structure will teach us why God places His creation in the proper construction and why people must treat the pattern respectfully.

Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

1 Corinthians 11:1 NKJV

1. MAN AND CHRIST

God appointed Adam as the garden’s watcher and caretaker in the Garden of Eden. At first, he was alone (aside from being with God), but later on, God made him a helper in the form of a woman. She is called Eve. God created the Bible as His treasured possession on the earth so that whoever reads the word of God by heart in truthfulness will find Jesus as a wonderful counselor, man’s Savior, deliverer, teacher, and Father. In a family, man is to be obeyed, and he directs his family to follow the teachings of God by heart, and he will pass it on to his wife and children. A Godly husband is teachable, humble, and ready to deliver God’s word to his wife, and he will rule over her (Genesis 3:16b) with love and blessings from the Lord.

2. WOMAN AND MAN

Women are designed in the image of God and man. God created man first to be the caretaker of the garden. God loved the man and thought about giving him someone who could help him. A woman was taken from a man’s rib (Genesis 2:22). Adam and Eve became husband and wife. They became one flesh. That is why the woman’s desire is for her husband (Genesis 3:16b); she takes good care of her husband and her family, for she is a helper God made for man (Genesis 2:18). A woman and a wife are designed to have a noble character (Proverbs 31:10), honorable and to be respected. A godly woman has an upright heart ready to seize the day, giving to her family and everyone she meets the rooted love of Jesus.

3. JESUS AND THE HEAVENLY FATHER

God created the world for His Son, Jesus—everything through Him and for Him. Jesus fulfilled the prophecy because His head is the Heavenly Father. Just as a man’s head is for Jesus, a woman is for man, and Christ is for God. Though Jesus and the Father are only One, Jesus has all respect for His Father and addressed His name while on the cross; He didn’t think He is equal to God, knowing Jesus is God; still, He humbles Himself before the Father by being servant in human likeness (Philippians 2:6-7). As man’s head is Christ, the wife (woman) has to submit her life to her husband (man), and Jesus in nature is God looking up to the Heavenly Father. All people must humble themselves before the Lord.

God has appointed us to someone not only to take care of them but to teach them what God (the head of everything) led us in His word. Being designated to a specific position naturally consists of leadership and discipleship to whoever is under the delegate’s care. We must submit ourselves to someone with more experience than us. If we allow their godly headship to teach us, we will become good servants of Jesus trained to lead a holy Nation.

The sheep follow their shepherd.
