The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.

Colossians 1:26‭-‬28 NIV

In this world, people have many beliefs in the mysteries and wonders of this world and beyond. There are some things this world has not revealed to anyone yet, kept hidden until now. Many are searching for hidden treasures, wisdom, and riches that have not been given to anyone yet. But let’s dig into what the Bible says about the riches of the mystery’s glory hidden for ages and generations. In Colossians 1:16 NIV, “For in Him all things were created: things on heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.” Everything on earth, the heavens, and beyond was all created for Jesus. His superiority and humbleness significantly impact all people who come into Him. He holds the power to change someone’s life. He is a wonderful counselor and a Father to everyone who comes to Him. Jesus is God’s chosen One whom He delights; He poured His Spirit to Him. He is the light of the Nation. He freed the captives and gave light to darkness. He was pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that should be on us, Jesus carried it. His wounds healed us daily (Isaiah 9:6-7, 42:1,4,6 & 7, 53:5).

Verse 26, “hidden from ages ago and from generations,” foresees what to expect from future generations. From the New Testament, when Jesus was first revealed to the world, up to this stage of life. Jesus is the mystery hidden that was prophesied from “ages ago” (Old Testament) and “from generations” (present time). The “riches of the glory”  is Jesus alone. In Him, we are victorious. No follower of Jesus has nothing , but we are rich in heavenly treasures, but not on this earth. Jesus is the ultimate treasure of the Nation—the hope of glory.

When we finally discover the mystery hidden that holds the riches of the glory, which is Jesus, we share it with others, the wisdom and experience we encounter from Him. We are purified by His precious blood, in Him, we have a new self. We disciple one another with His teachings and are encouraged to live by what we learn and preach to Him. 

It is the season of sowing seeds in every land. It is not kept anymore but has already been revealed to us so we can be equipped for the coming of the great gleaner. He prepared all the riches of glory for the seeds to grow in preparation for the big season of harvest.
