DESIRING THE GIFT OF MINISTRY

Written by Abby Caymol | Aug 16, 2023

After receiving Jesus as our Lord and personal Savior, we are already in the unity of one body of Christ.

We are already inside the circle of God’s heart. God has called us to be His children and walk in love like Jesus (Ephesians 5:1-2a). Being in one body of Christ, we are given gifts and callings to encourage people who are also part of one body and those who are not “yet” part of the body of Christ. Verse 28 says that God has appointed gifts and calling in one body but a lot of variety. There are Pastors, worshippers in singing; there are people who are Spirit-filled by speaking in tongues, people who lay hands and pray to God for someone’s healing, who is shown miracles by believing and in the faith of Jesus, a gift of kindness, a gift of helping one another, good counsel from the Lord amid sufferings of other people and a lot more blessings from God that is not revealed to His people yet.

We may have different kinds of callings and gifts. Still, God not only granted high-calling servants of Him to perform miracles like His apostles but also the people who desire the Lord wholeheartedly and truthfully in every ministry they are in. We should do whatever we do in honor of God. Not all people are the same. We are all created uniquely and beautifully, but we have one heart in ministry for the Lord. When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He gives the desires of our hearts and gives us the gifts and abilities in ourselves that we are not aware of yet or have not been revealed by the Lord for us. Some of these desires from the heart have been given to us already, and some have not been showed to us yet. These gifts that have not unfolded before us are gifts and purposes we will enjoy in the right season.

God’s promise, He will give the desires of our heart when we delight ourselves to Him also means gifts and talents that God planted in our hearts that will happen in reality in God’s perfect time.

Place our desires to God, and everything else will follow.
